Most of us lead hectic lives. By the time we’ve done all the things we HAVE to do it can feel as though there’s little time left for us, our families and our friends. It can feel as though everything is closing in around us and there is no room to breathe.

I’m Sue Parry, a professional garden designer based in Dursley in Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. I work in and around Dursley, across Gloucestershire and sometimes further afield.

I decided to take control and turn my passion into a career and seized the opportunity to spend a year studying for my Professional Garden Design Diploma at the Cotswold Gardening School in Gloucestershire.

I help clients transform their gardens into a space that works for them, a space they can get out into, use, relax and enjoy all year round. It’s all about helping them to make the most of their outdoor space.

I spent many years putting my physics degree to good use whilst working as a technical specialist in the nuclear industry. Gardening was always a hobby for me and a way to escape from the pressures of work and the stresses and strains of everyday life.

I like to work closely with my clients, involving them at every stage of the design and translating their ideas and dreams into a bespoke design that works for them. This ensures they get the garden that really works for them.

The final plans will give you everything you need to be able to build your new garden.

Imagine if your garden could become part of the space you relax in at home, a space where you can breathe, feel the sun, connect with nature, relax. Rather than being another source of stress it can be a place where you escape the chaos of daily life, a place of sanity. Yes, there are gardening jobs that need doing, but outdoor housework is much more fun than indoor housework! The garden doesn't need to be another thing to add to your ‘To-Do’ list.

A carefully designed garden can give you space for a barbecue with family and friends, somewhere to sit and relax as the sun sets, warmed by a fire pit, a space to meditate, somewhere to grow your own vegetables, a space to sit and enjoy the winter sun, maybe even a space for a garden room or office. Your garden can be your sanctuary, the place you want to be, something you want to make time for. It can help you live a happier and healthier life. There’s something truly magical about your dream garden.
