The priority for last year was getting the long borders planted in preparation for events happening in the garden this year.
The Master Layout and Planting Plans have been drawn up for the family garden, which is being built this year.
What did the owners say?
“I was feeling overwhelmed and slightly depressed about my garden before we met. You really listened and took onboard everything I said. Now I feel really excited!”
The owners of this property in the village of South Cerney were really keen to breathe new life into their garden which had sadly fallen into decline in recent years. They had tried a few things but nothing seemed to work. They wanted to improve two areas of their garden.
Firstly they wanted to revitalise the long borders that span the width of the garden beside the arch in this photo, which used to be full of plants and very colourful.
They also wanted a complete re-design of the area nearest to the house and to reclaim it as a family space, separating it from the much larger garden beyond. In this area they wanted somewhere to sit, somewhere to entertain family and friends, a vegetable garden and some fruit trees.
The owners were keen to have a cottage garden feel with lots of bright colours and this plant mood board which shows the types of plants and colours I suggested for the garden.
